Bolton is home to rising stars
Kyle Cambray is the latest rising star from Bolton who has featured in the new BBC Drama, Ridley Road.
The Bolton College learning development mentor had a non-speaking role as part of Colin Jordanâs (Rory Kinnear) fascist group in the BBC drama and Kyle spoke about how great it felt to see himself on TV.
He said: âItâs really cool being in a BBC series. Itâs one of those things you donât get bored of. I have had so many opportunities to travel, spending a week in Manchester filming and then a weekend in Liverpool.
âTo see it on the screen is amazing, I really enjoyed taking part in the series.â
Kyle said he also felt really supported by the college during his acting trips.
He said: âBolton College is really supportive of my acting. They always give me the time to go out and film and my management is really supportive.â
The 32-year-old was a performing arts student at Bolton College from 2006 to 2008, before he did a PGCE course to become a teacher.
After a number of years, Kyle decided to go back to his roots and teach performing arts at Bolton College before becoming a learning development mentor.
Throughout his acting career, Kyle has been part of the ITV Cilla cast in 2014, playing the role of Cillaâs brother and now plays his part in theatre, being the Committee member of Phoenix Theatre Company.
Speaking of his future acting roles, Kyle said there is nothing TV wise set up yet but he will be working on a new show by Phoenix Theatre called When We Are Married, which will be premiered at Deane Golf Club between November 17 and 20. Tickets are priced at £9.
Lauren Patel is also a student from Bolton who is a rising star. The actress, who attended Bolton Sixth Form College, appeared as a co-star in the new smash hit film Everybodyâs Talking About Jamie.
She played Pritti Pasha, alongside Max Harwood, who played Jamie New.
