Adam Kinzinger Not Afraid Of Committee Backlash
The representative of Illinois, Adam Kinzinger, mentioned on Monday that he was quite ready to ask his fellow legislators from the Republican side to testify. This is due to him being nominated for the committee that would be investigating the Capitol Riots in January.
Kinzinger also brushed off questions regarding possible retaliation from the leaders of the House GOP after he consented to serve on the panel. Interestingly, Kinzinger was asked to serve by Nancy Pelosi, the House Speaker and would be the second Republican to join the panel.
Adam Kinzinger Will Gladly Sit In On the CommitteeIn his interview, Adam Kinzinger stated that he was going to search for the facts, and if it included any important member that had a role in the organization- or the fact that they knew or tried to hide it. Pelosi put Kinzinger in the select committee on Sunday- after she ended up rejecting two lawmakers from the GOP that were selected for the committee by Kevin McCarthy- the House Minority Leader.
As a result, McCarthy ended up leaving with the entire slate of picks for the panel. Currently, the Leader is under pressure to punish the actions of Kinzinger and Liz Cheney.
Adam Kinzinger and Liz Cheney have come out and openly criticized the members of the Republican Party for negating their role in the Capitol attacks. The day saw a mob of MAGA supporters breaching the building while trying to stop the certification of Joe BidenĂ¢s election as President of the United States of America. The riot resulted in the death of five individuals while other legislators fled for their safety.
Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger are also the only Republican candidates who ended up voting in support of the institutionalizing of the committee in June.
