Police tackle night-time car crime in Bolton
GREATER Manchester Police were kept busy last night as they dealt with racing cars and stolen vehicles.
GMP Traffic tweeted: "Spotted this Astra seemingly racing with another vehicle off Wigan Road, Bolton.
"Stopped on St Helen's Road the driver would fail a roadside drug test plus cannabis."
In the same evening, a stolen car had been found.
A spokesman for the police said: "Following reports that a vehicle had been stolen from West Yorkshire, it was sighted by #ME18 on Highfield Road Farnworth and immediately made off on sighting the officer."
"Located minutes later abandoned near Albert Road. Currently awaiting recovery."
To end the night, a driver of a Fiesta led #ME18 on a tour of the back streets of Great Lever before pulling over on McKean Street.
The driver Owned the car for two days with no insurance held and provided a roadside breath sample of 67.
