Call to raise some cheer for Bolton Hospice

BOLTON Hospice is calling for local businesses to rally together and join their ‘Workplace Raise-a-thon’ by doing what they can, anytime from October 1 to December 31.

Bosses at the hospice are looking for help in trying to raise £36,000, which will pay for inpatient care at one of their beautiful en-suite rooms for three months.

So far, 14 businesses from across the town have signed up to support the cause by either making a donation, organising a fundraiser or just joining to become a patron.

They include Starts with You, whose staff completed a challenge walking more than 26 miles of Rivington Pike, Jubilee Tower and Holcombe Tower.

Company spokesman Matthew Ramsden said: “From experience I know the importance of the service Bolton Hospice provides to our community, not only providing a final resting place for our loved ones but also offering all levels of support to the carers and families including respite for those providing care to their families. “

Also on the roll of honour are Burnden Park Fitness Academy, Digicomm 360 who have become Platinum Patrons, Sheridan Lifts who have become Platinum Patrons, Asda who are fundraising for the Raise-a-thon, Marlborough Group, CAS Products, Booth Industries, Total Fire Group, Slimming World, Fluent Money and Tyrers.

Other recent sign-ups to the campaign include Hyway Logistics and Bespoke Composite Doors Ltd, who are planning their fundraising activities.

Kathryn Willett, community lead at Bolton Hospice“We are so grateful to all of the businesses who have already signed up to our Raise-a-thon, and we can’t wait to see some of the exciting fundraising activities that organisations have already got planned! We thought the Raise-a-thon would be a good opportunity for workplaces to engage with their local hospice, especially now that many people are back in the offices and have missed out on group activities for such a long time.”
