The areas of Bolton where coronavirus cases are on the rise

The borough saw a huge spike in infections in late April and early May due to the spread of the Delta variant which gave Bolton the highest infection rate in the country for some time.

However, during the last few weeks of July and the start of August cases had dropped significantly, giving the borough the lowest rate in the Greater Manchester region.

This has changed in recent days, with infection rates once again on the rise.

There is a varying story across the borough, with some areas of Bolton recording very little cases of Covid-19 in recent days, while some areas have seen a significant increase in cases.
