Pentagon Press Secretary John Kirby Holds Briefing on Afghan Crisis
The Taliban* managed to take over the country in the last few days, seizing one provincial capital after another and surrounding Kabul. After brief negotiations, Afghan President Ashraf Ghani resigned and left the country, while the Taliban entered the capital on Sunday, declaring that the 20-year-long war had ended.
