A strong majority of Canadians support the idea of a government-issued identification system indicating whether a person is fully vaccinated, partially vaccinated or not vaccinated at all.

A full 71% said paramedics and healthcare workers in any patient setting should be forced to be vaccinated, 70% felt the same way about nurses, 64% agreed police, teachers and school staff should be vaccinated. Support for requiring servers in restaurants to be vaccinated was just 54% and 51% felt that way about civil servants.
The online poll was conducted between Aug. 9-10, 2021, among 1504 randomly selected Canadian adults (18+) who are Maru Voice Canada online panelists. For comparison purposes, a probability sample of this size has an estimated margin of error (which measures sampling variability) of +/- 2.5%, 19 times out of 20.
