Catering firm pledges new jobs with move to Bolton

A FAMILY-run catering equipment business has secured £750,000 of funding to move to a bigger site in Bolton.

Easy Equipment, which specialises in supplying small businesses and individuals with catering equipment, has used an investment package from NatWest to acquire new premises after a three-year-long search for the right property.

The purchase of the site on Bilbao Street, just off Chorley Old Road, follows Easy's decision to transport its operation away from Manchester city centre, with the company set to relocate its Ancoats-based team.

Bosses say having more space will allow the business to stock more items and enable faster delivery times for customers. They say the move will help to bolster ambitious plans for the firm, which has operated since 1985.

It will also create up to 10 new jobs for the local community in the next year.

The firm plans to expand its product offering and will explore extending the new property with an additional unit.

Michael Shah, one of the firm's directors, said: “As a business, we have been ready to take the next step for a long time, having outgrown our former premises in 2018. However, we knew that finding the right property was essential to thrive in the next phase of our business plan.

“With NatWest’s help, we have invested in a property that will be instrumental to our future success, helping us to increase both our customer and supplier databases. We’ll be able to further grow our team, offering a number of new jobs and business opportunities for local people.”

Lee Thompson, relationship manager at NatWest, added: “Easy Equipment is a leading supplier of much-needed catering equipment, so it’s essential for the company to continue to operate an efficient and crucial service for the hospitality sector.

“It has been great to work with Michael and his family to secure the funding to purchase a property that empowers their growth plans. I’m confident they will continue to be a key player in the local business community and create some fantastic opportunities.”
